Citing her “vast experience,” President-elect Joe Biden announced Sunday that he has appointed TV personality and Olympic decathlete Caitlyn Jenner to lead his presidential transition team. The announcement is being championed by pundits across the country as Biden formulates his strategy to transition into the White House.
“Caitlyn is used to making huge transitions,” Biden said in an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper. “She’s already gone through quite the transition herself, and obviously found incredible success. I am confident that her vast experience will make this a smooth and seamless transition.”
When called upon to lead the team, Ms. Jenner gave a giddy acceptance, sources say, and soon after she issued a public statement.
“I am humbled by this important appointment,” she told TMZ reporters during a virtual press conference. “Although, I can’t say I’m surprised. I have a rich history of managing successful transitions under an unprecedented level of public scrutiny. All I have to do is replicate what I’ve already done, and the President-elect will have a flawless transition to the White House.”
