You only live once. That’s how I try to live my life. And that’s also how I offer my business and financial advice. Let’s face it, it’s served me well, considering my exploding businesses and skyrocketing stock portfolio.
So, you’re asking… What do you do if you’re stuck in a job that you loathe? A job that stresses you out and makes you want to die?
Easy. Just quit.
Most business and financial columnists will tell you to wait to find a new job before quitting your current job. I’m more of a cold turkey kind of guy. Go ahead and quit and then figure out what you want to do next. If you have to get a payday loan or borrow some cash from friends or family, so be it. You’ll be happy to get out of that hellhole you’ve been spending your life in.
Just don’t wait too long to start looking for a new job. I would give it no longer than six months before you seriously start looking for a new gig. Understandably, though, you want enough time to decompress and find out what you want to do next.
If you have that entrepreneurial spirit burning inside of you, this is the perfect time to start your own business. The challenge you will run into is finding the upfront capital to get your business off the ground. If this is a problem, simply borrow more from your friends and family.
Or, if you want to start a business at a low upfront cost, find a good pyramid scheme company (aka direct sales or multi-level marketing). There are plenty of options out there.
