A history teacher in Appleton, Wisconsin is wondering if he will ever get the opportunity to teach his students about the War in Afghanistan. Chase Lewis, a 58-year-old man who teaches history to 10th graders, told several colleagues on Friday that he fears he will be retired before he can educate his students about the Middle East conflict.
“This war has been going on 18 years, 7 months, 3 weeks, and 9 days,” Mr. Lewis announced during a virtual happy hour. “Even though the war started before my students were born, I have strict criteria that I won’t teach on historical topics until they actually become history.”
