As speculation circulates over who will be his running mate, Joe Biden said Wednesday that whoever he chooses as his Vice President will “wear the pants” in the White House. Biden made the statement during a virtual campaign rally, when thousands tuned in hoping to witness an important campaign announcement.
“So this Zoom thing is pretty cool,” Biden said during the broadcast, which started 37 minutes late due to a virus on the Vice President’s computer. “I must say, I’ve never worn a dress shirt and shorts during a campaign rally. I could really get used to this. I have a feeling my Veep will be the one wearing the pants in the White House.”
Some critics are questioning whether Biden was cracking a “my wife wears the pant’s” joke or if he was indicating that he would be adhering to a more casual personal dress code.
