As Kanye West’s presidential campaign surges on, the hip hop artist is centering his campaign on a single issue: Becoming the first second black President of the United States.
The American rapper, record producer, and fashion designer acknowledged that when it comes to addressing politics he knows little about the issues – but with volatile racial tensions, he affirmed, electing the first second black U.S. president would help heal the nation.
“Think about it,” West said in a video posted to his Twitter account. “You vote for me and you’ll be able to look back on 2020 and say, ‘I helped elect the first second black President of the United States.’ You’ll be part of making history.”
Several pundits are suggesting that what Mr. West failed to note is that becoming the first second black President of the United States would also make him the last second President of the United States.
