According to a new poll, the majority of millennials enjoy the benefit of not having to work when required to work from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, to the disdain of America’s younger workforce, businesses are beginning to bring employees back to the office, due to a flattening of new cases.
Surveying over 2,000 participants, aged 23 to 29, more than 80 percent said “not having to work” is a significant benefit of working from home. Some even opposed “flattening the curve” if it means reverting back to their traditional work environment.
“I’m not ready for this pandemic to go away, because I’m not ready to go back to the office and start working again,” said Thomas Norman, a 24-year-old social media manager who is seeking sponsors for his video gaming live stream channel on YouTube. “I hope my company institutes some kind of flexible work from home policy, because I really enjoy not having to work.”
In related news, several media outlets are being scrutinized for criticizing the millennial generation’s work ethic, as it’s become an overdone cliche.
