PETA Says Veganism is the “Ultimate Pandemic-Killer”

Animal rights group PETA announced on Thursday that veganism is the “ultimate pandemic-killer,” because not eating meat will reduce the spread of animal-transmitted diseases around the world.

Eating less meat, the organization states, will discourage animal agriculture and remove infected animals from wet markets, which are often breeding grounds for new viruses.

“We get rid of the animals, we get rid of the viruses,” said PETA spokeswoman Jennifer Darling, who was spotted in a McDonald’s parking lot in August of 2018. “Think about all the lives that would be saved if we didn’t have animals on our planet.”

Update: A leaked internal memo found that PETA executives are now regretting the statement as they came to the realization that widespread veganism would terminate their jobs.
