Fourteen-year-old Cody Langley, a Santa Monica native who suffers from severe acne on his chin and lower cheeks, came out in support of the strict face mask policies currently mandated in his city.
While all of the businesses in Santa Monica require that patrons wear face masks, Langley fears that a decline in COVID-19 cases will bring an end to the policies. In turn, the teenager is hoping that new cases continue to surface in the summer months, so that face masks will be required throughout the 2020-2021 school year.
“Obviously, I hate seeing all of the sickness and death that comes with this virus,” Langley said, sporting a tie-dye-colored face mask with a collage of cuddly animals. “But I support the face mask policies. We shouldn’t keep our faces so exposed anyways.”
